Whats new in CCTV?

What is new in CCTV?

For many years, small businesses wanting to run a CCTV system have had a number of cameras, powered from the mains and connected to a central box (VHS recorder or DVR).
VHS has disappeared from our lives; to some extent even DVDs have been eclipsed by BluRay and now VoD (Video on Demand).
We have also moved from analogue TV’s at home, opting instead for plasma, LED or LCD screens in 16:9 ratio displaying HDTV.
Such changes, innovation and progress in technology have had a direct impact on CCTV. Thanks to extensive developments in this sector, cost-effective solutions with crystal clear HDTV images are now available...

...and the new HDTV cameras don’t even need a mains connection. They can be powered from a switch, meaning fewer cables!
The DVR, which can be a single point of failure for some traditional systems, is now in some cases no longer required, as many cameras offer on-board storage, built-in intelligent recording and remote viewing via smartphone, tablet or computer anywhere in the world.
