Small CCTV Solution

Small CCTV solution

Until recently, IP CCTV was limited to large installations. These IP CCTV systems offered many new features such as on-board intelligence, remote viewing, easy integration and improved scalability. IP CCTV was rapidly adopted by installers who integrated the IP CCTV cameras with intelligent, server-based Video Management Software (VMS). In some cases, these installations also incorporated other IP-based solutions (e.g. Access Control and Intruder systems).
This is appropriate for larger installations, where the cost of implementing high-level security solutions pays back relatively quickly. Now smaller companies can enjoy similar benefits!
It is possible to install a small system (1 to 16 cameras) with the same level of functionality and advantages, which include:
  • HDTV Images
  • remote viewing
  • in-built alarm triggers and recording
  • video storage on SD cards
  • built-in movement
  • PIR, etc.
All of these benefits are available within the budget you have had in the past for an analogue solution which doesn’t offer anywhere near the level of functionality available in the market today. And the best thing is that the images are HDTV-quality; crystal clear and very useful in the event of an incident.

Where are the images stored?

An analogue CCTV system is primarily designed to record and store images locally. This can take up lots of storage, space, and is not cost effective.
With a digital IP CCTV system, images can be stored within the camera itself (on an SD card) and can also be transmitted over the Internet, across Local Networks or Wide Area Networks to a central location, where they can be recorded, viewed and managed.
